Chaitanya, Shimoga, August 26, 2019: The Thirtieth Annual General Body Meeting of the Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society was held on 26 August 2019 at Chaitanya. The meeting began at 10.00 am with prayer led by Rev. Fr Stany D'Souza. Rev. Fr Francis Fernandes welcomed all the members, especially the new members, Fr Ronald D'Cunha, Sr Marie Evelyn AC, Sr Mable D'Silva SCB and Mrs Irene Goveas. The President of SMSSS, Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ declared the meeting legal as there was the required quorum. After presenting the minutes of the twenty ninth AGM and getting them approved, the Secretary of SMSSS, Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto presented the annual report of the Governing Board of SMSSS for the year 2018-19. After a fruitful discussion and words of appreciation for the tremendous work of the Society the report was approved unanimously.
After the presentation of the annual report the Secretary presented the audited statement of accounts for the year 2018-19. The audited statement of Accounts were approved unanimously. In his presidential address Bishop Francis noted that the importance given for conducting various trainings is praiseworthy. He praised the committed hard work of the Secretary and the staff and wished all the very best. The meeting ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr James Martis.
