On October 29 and 30, The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society, SMSSS-Chaitanya held a staff meeting that proved to be both thought-provoking and inspiring. The gathering commenced with a heartfelt prayer, setting a contemplative tone for the day. Attendees were then treated to a reflective folk song that encouraged everyone to consider their lives and reaffirm their commitment to serving humanity.
As part of the meeting's regular practice, several animators delivered three-minute talks on various topics. Ms. Parimala opened the session by discussing the critical distinction between needs and wants, prompting attendees to reflect on their priorities. Following her, Ms. Pramila spoke about the importance of self-employment, highlighting its role in personal empowerment and community development. Ms. Martha then shared valuable insights on personality development, emphasizing the significance of self-awareness and growth.
Ms. Philomena Almeida contributed thoughts on the necessity of regularity in self-upgrading, advocating for continuous learning and adaptation. Ms. Jyothi Vas followed with insights on time management, offering practical strategies for maximizing productivity. Finally, Ms. Precilla Martis elaborated on effective communicative techniques that can help animators become better leaders within society. Each talk was met with appreciation from attendees, sparking meaningful discussions.
Following these sessions, a half-yearly report presentation and evaluation took place, allowing the staff to reflect on their accomplishments and areas for improvement. The highlight of the meeting was a session on organizational ethics led by our Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ the President of SMSSS. He emphasized the staff's duty toward the poor and marginalized, urging them to enhance the lives of those they serve. The president underscored the importance of following one's conscience and practicing honesty in every task. His inspiring examples of integrity, hard work, and duty resonated deeply with the attendees. He called upon everyone to work with unity and oneness for the betterment of society.
In celebration of the Deepavali festival, the staff gathered with Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, Very Rev. Msgr Stany D'Souza, priests and religious sisters of the neighbourhood. Ms. Madhura provided a brief explanation of the festival's significance, enriching the gathering's understanding of the occasion. Mr Jagadish animated the occasion. Very Rev. Msgr Stany D'Souza and the Bishop extended their warm wishes, and the celebration culminated in a delicious lunch, further enhancing the joy of the day.
The event concluded with a photo session for the staff, capturing the spirit of unity and camaraderie. Insightful inputs from the director rounded out the day, leaving everyone inspired and committed to their mission. Overall, it was a day filled with reflection, unity, and celebration, fostering a renewed dedication to serving the community.
