The ICDP camp was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Shimoga Diocese and President of SMSSS, alongside Rev. Fr. Richard Pais, Director of KROSS, Bangalore, and Fr. Pius D'Souza, Director of SMSSS, Shimoga. Together, they symbolically planted saplings into a dry plant and unveiled the "Chiguru" diary, a new initiative introduced by Fr. Pius D'Souza.
The Bishop addressed the children to plants that need nourishment to grow. He highlighted the significance of healthy growth with the slogan:
“Healthy seeds, healthy plant, healthy plant, healthy flower, healthy flower, healthy fruit, healthy fruit, healthy society.”
Rev. Fr. Richard Pais encouraged the children to take full advantage of the benefits offered by the ICDP, which has supported them for several years. Fr. Pius D'Souza delivered a motivational speech, emphasizing the importance of wearing a beautiful smile, similar to how one feels when receiving prizes in competitions.
Mrs. Anie conducted a session on Adolescent Health Education, focusing on essential life skills, including "How to Say No Effectively." This interactive session empowered children with valuable knowledge and confidence.
Additionally, Mrs. Gracy, Mrs. Anitha, Mrs. Baby, and Ms. Sahana engaged the children in exciting games and action songs, making the day enjoyable and memorable.
Mrs. Gracy addressed both parents and children, explaining the regulations of ICDP and emphasizing the importance of timely submission of necessary documents.
Delicious and nutritious meals were served throughout the day, and the children expressed their gratitude to the organization, staff, and directors for the wonderful experience they had.
The camp concluded with children carrying their "Chiguru" diaries and radiant smiles. It was a remarkable day filled with learning and joy, and we look forward to nurturing the growth of these young minds in the future.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao SJ, Rev. Fr. Richard Pais, Fr. Pius D'Souza, and the entire team for making this camp a memorable experience.
