Shimoga, Aug 11: On Friday, 6th July 2012,Functional Vocational Training and Research Society (FVTRS)® Bangalore in collaboration with The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS)® Shimoga successfully hoisted one day consultation workshop to NGOs of Shimoga, Davanagere and Chitradurga Districts. 27 NGOs from these three districts actively participated in it.
The main objective of this work shop is to fulfill the growing needs of India for skilled man power across the sector and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills. FVTRS mainly looking forward to support the school dropout youth through providing employable skills to the unorganized sector of youth in the country. FVTRS is also looking forward potential NGOs who can provide skills to the youth in there own working area. Fund availability for the skill training for those youth will be supported by FVTRS.
Mr. Veda Murthy, District Commissioner of shimoga Inaugurated the workshop and said that it is not possible for any Government to provide jobs to all the graduates. Hence academically qualified persons should develop skills and take up self employment. This is an areaof skills and those who lack them would struggle to get employment. B.Y. Aruna Devi Director of Jana Shikshana Samsthe Shimoga, spoke as chief guest and insisted that youngsters along with technical skills need to learn soft skills that make them employable.
Dr. Albert Joseph Director of FVTRS, explained about the potentiality of unorganized sector that suffers and how youth struggle to get employable skills and jobs. FVTRS is only NGO, presently supports the NGOs in he country to train the rural youth on various skills.
Dr. Jerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Shimoga and the President of SMSSS, stressed on Net working of NGOs, GOs, and financial Institutions to tackle the problem of unemployed school drop out youths and provide skills based on their needs. Fr. Veeresh V. Moras Director of SMSSS, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Felix D’Souza rogram Manager of FVTRS, thanked who were present.
