The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS) successfully organized a one-day camp for parents and children as part of the Integrated Child Development Programme (ICDP) at Don Bosco ITI, Paper Town, Bhadravathi. This event aimed to raise awareness about parenting, child development, and community involvement, attracting 113 children and 88 parents.
The dais featured Fr. Pius D'Souza, the Director of SMSSS, Fr. Christu Raj, Rector of Don Bosco ITI College, Mr. Shanmukha, the resource person of the day, and other dignitaries. Ms. Gracy anchored the program, and Ms. Lincy Theresa extended a warm welcome to all attendees. The program commenced with a prayer song led by the children. Mrs. Pramila Daisy, along with Mrs. Parimala and Mrs. Pramila Mary, creatively inaugurated the program.
Fr. Pius D'Souza addressed the parents, emphasizing their responsibilities towards their children, the importance of saving one rupee daily, the need for counselling for both parents and children, and the value of building strong relationships with ICDP staff.
Mr. Shanmukha conducted a session focused on instilling self-confidence in parents and their role in shaping a bright future for their children, concluding with a video presentation on self-confidence.
Parents expressed their satisfaction with the camp experience following the session. Mrs. Gracy organized enjoyable games and lively action songs for the children, contributing to a delightful day. Children enjoyed a delicious meal with sweets and conveyed their sincere thanks to all the staff and the organization for the love and support they received.
