The project aims at the integral development of the families as well as the society.
In his address, Shri K. T. Gangadhar analysed the present environmental concerns in India and noted that if we do not care and protect the environment and seriously work towards water conservation, the future generation will be in great difficulty. All should start converting the waste at home into organic manure. This will not only reduce the problem of piling up solid waste, but also provide better manure for the plants. This will also increase the fertility of the soil. We get good, natural vegetables for consumption. Cultivating vegetables in our own backyard garden will also improve our health condition.
In his presidential address, Bishop Francis Serrao appreciated the efforts of the Director of SMSSS, Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto and thanked him for realising a project which aims at the integral development of the families taking into consideration environmental concerns. Through a few life experiences from his school days, how the lessons for life taught by the teachers during the school days are shaping one’s life today. Development is not preserving more food in our refrigerator or costly items in our cupboards, but feeling for the needs of others and sharing with others what we have in excess. The world has enough for everyone’s need and not for everyone’s greed was the takeaway message.
