Ayanur, Shimoga, June 08, 2019: The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society in collaboration with Streebandhu Federation, Ayanur under Misereor Project, "Empowerment of Socio-Economically Poor and Disadvantaged Women in Karnataka" organized a training on Organic Farming and Kitchen Garden for the Self Help Groups members at Ayanur on 08 June 2019. 53 women participated in the training. Women Empowerment Programme Coordinator Mr Jagadeesha H trained the women on the benefits of organic farming and possibilities of creating a kitchen garden where everyone can cultivate a few vegetables for household consumption. After the training on Organic Farming and Kitchen Garden, the members discussed various social issues bothering the community and decided to approach concerned departments for suitable solutions. SMSSS animator of the area Mrs Savitha M organized the meeting systematically.
