He was speaking after inaugurating the program ‘Dialogue with Journalists and Felicitation to the Senior Journalists’ in view of the Silver Jubilee of SMSSS organized at Chaitanya, Shimoga on 18 Dec, 2014. Rights based actions result in 'Sustainable Development' in the Rural Communities. It is a process of 'Sustainable Empowerment' of the Poor.
Mr Heemantharaju, Senior Deputy Director, District Information Department lauded the efforts of SMSSS in bringing awareness about various welfare schemes and policies of the Government to the most marginalized sections of the Society. While appreciating the readiness of SMSSS to network with department in carrying out its programs, he called upon SMSSS to continue the same.

Mr H Chandrakanth, editor of 'Shimoga Times', Mr N Manjunath, editor of ‘Kranthi Deepa’ Kannada daily and Mr Bandigadi Nanjundappa, 'Voice of Shimoga', Kannada daily, Senior Journalists who have served more than 25 years in the field of Journalism were felicitated. Around 50 journalists of both print and electronic media were present and were honored. Fr. Veeresh V Moras, the director of SMSSS thanked the journalists for their overwhelming support to SMSSS in reaching out to the most neglected sections of the Society.
