The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS) successfully hosted a one-day "Sneha Koota" Unnati Scholarship Students's meet on November 24, 2024.

The day began with a Holy Eucharist offered by Fr. Pius D'Souza, the director of SMSSS. In his homily, he emphasized the profound truth that by giving, we receive. He spoke about the importance of giving time, energy, and goodwill, and the love required for this selfless act.

The atmosphere was further uplifted by the choir, led by Unnathi beneficiary students, with music by Mr. Albin. Following this, a series of group activities and lucky games were conducted, adding a touch of fun and excitement. Seven lucky participants walked away with prizes, creating a buzz of joy and celebration.

Most Rev. Francis Serrao SJ, the Bishop of Shimoga, addressed the beneficiaries with words of encouragement. He highlighted the exceptional talents and capacities of the students, urging them to aim high. He stressed the importance of supportive hands to help these students achieve their dreams, calling for goodwill from the community to extend a helping hand. He also pointed out the potential for those who have completed their courses to repay the loans, enabling the program to benefit even more students in the future.

The event was meticulously planned and executed by Mrs. Anie Fiallow and the ICDP team. Beneficiaries and their parents expressed their deep appreciation for the efforts of SMSSS and the Diocese in supporting education for their children.

The event was attended by 72 "Unnati" beneficiaries and 36 parents. The program concluded with a sumptuous meal, leaving everyone with full hearts and minds, ready to embark on the journey towards their bright futures.
