The chief guest of the day, Mr Aravind, the Forest Range Officer addressed the women saying we need to plant more tree and take good care of the planted plants. The President of the Grama Panchayat and other members of the Grama Panchayat were present. 10 seedlings were planted in the premises of the Grama Panchayat. The Forest Department has given 400 seedlings free of cost and has requested the participants to plant them and take good care of the plants. There were 140 participants. During the programme it was decided that a record of how many people have taken the plants should be maintained and a regular monitoring of the plants should be done so that the planted seedlings are not wasted.
Mr Ravi, the Coordinator from SMSSS for the area along with Mrs Shreedevi, the animator from SMSSS for the area organized the programme and worked hard to collect the plants from the Forest Department. The vice-president of Streebandhu Federation Jeni expressed her sincere thanks to SMSSS for empowering the women of Jeni area.
