Shimoga, September 10, 2019: The diocese of Shimoga remains grateful to all those who have supported us financially and through relief materials these days for the Flood Relief Work of the diocese. We are happy to present the updates of the relief work. As on today relief material kits consisting of rice (mostly a bag of 25 kgs), dal, sugar, biscuits, soaps, tooth paste, tooth brush, sarees (minimum 2 each), bed sheets are given to 285 families. The diocese through its 'development arm' the Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS) has already started the work of repairing the following 2 damaged houses. The work of repairing another 3 houses will begin this week. The diocese can provide a new lease of life and wipe the tears of a few more economically poor, socially marginalized flood victims with the generous help from people of goodwill.

The house of Yesudass (45 years), Sharavathinagar, Shimoga, working in the Christian Cemetery at Shimoga, living with his wife and 3 children
The house of Ms Margaret Mary (40 years), Paper Town, Bhadravathi, a spinster living in her sister's house with her niece (sister's daughter). Her sister and brother-in-law are no more. She works as a helper in a beauty parlour.
