By planting saplings the members of the respective Streebandhu Federations along with the Gram Panchayat members, officials from the Forest Department, School Principal, ASHA animators and others gave a call to make the world greener and more beautiful.

At Sharavathinagar Rev. Fr Stephen Albuquerque said that the observation of the World Environment Day should not be limited to one day but the message of the day should be implemented all through the year by protecting and safeguarding our mother earth. The director of SMSSS, Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto noted that the observation of World Environment Day reminds everyone of their responsibility to make the world greener.

“Celebrate Biodiversity” is the theme of the World Environment Day 2020. Biodiversity is needed to be protected, conserved and enhanced at the first place. Biodiversity must be the primacy of all ideas, plans, all programmes and all projects.  The “Celebrate Biodiversity” theme at the heart of the World Environment Day 2020 helps awaken our consciousness for the greatest value of life, calls for conservation and augmentation of Earth’s biodiversity, and makes us reinvent our socio-cultural values based on biodiversity of the nature.

Let the observation of the World Environment Day remind everyone of their duties and responsibilities towards the Mother Earth.
