Chaitanya, Shimoga, March 08, 2022: The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society®, Shimoga celebrated the International Women's Day on 08 March 2022 at Chaitanya Auditorium. The celebration began at 3.00 pm with a prayer song. Dr K. S. Pavitra, Psychiatrist, Sridhar Nursing Home, Shimoga inaugurated the celebration. Smt. Shilpa M. Doddamani was the chief guest. Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, the Bishop of the Diocese of Shimoga and the President of SMSSS presided over the programme. Sr Premalatha, UFS, Coordinator, SMSSS and Mrs Precilla Martis, President, Streebandhu Multipurpose Souharda Cooperative Ltd, Shimoga were the Guests of Honour.
Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the Director of SMSSS in his keynote addressed explained the purpose of International Women’s Day and noted that if the theme of International Women’s Day 2022, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” has to become a reality then everyone should work without any discrimination.
