Chaitanya, Shimoga, June 30, 2019: The meeting of the sixth and final batch of the Integrated Child Development Programme beneficiary children's parents was held in Chaitanya, Shimoga on 30 June 2019. The beneficiaries from Cathedral, Honnali and all those who did not attend the meeting earlier in the month attended the meeting. 140 parents participated in the meeting. The meeting was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the director of SMSSS. He highlighted about the importance of making the best use of the support given to each child and also explained how both father and mother play an important role in the upbringing of the child. Mr. Vincent D'Mello, the resource person spoke about the available Government schemes and how one can avail them. Mr Jagadeesha K. H., the second resource person highlighted the qualities of a good leader and how each one can become a leader in one's own community. Mrs. Anie Fiallow, the Project Coordinator updated the participants about the rules and regulations of the Programme and requested the parents to abide the requirements of the programme.

The beneficiaries were from Hiriyur, Chitradurga, Thimmappayyanahalli, Hosadurga, Molakalmuru, Challakere, Davanagere and Harihar. 140 parents participated in the meeting. The meeting was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the director of SMSSS. He spoke to the parents about the role of both father and mother in the upbringing of the child. The beneficiaries were from Kable, Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Nagar, Jog Falls, Kargal, Malur and Kogar. There were 136 participants. The meeting was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the director of SMSSS. He highlighted the importance of the programme and also requested the parents to abide by the rules and regulations of the programme. Chaitanya, Shimoga, June 21, 2019: The meeting of the third batch of the Integrated Child Development Programme beneficiary children's parents was held in Chaitanya, Shimoga on 21 June 2019. The beneficiaries were from Anandapura, Sagar, Shikaripura, Soraba, Talaguppa and Thandagunda. 105 parents attended the meeting. The meeting was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the director of SMSSS. Mr. Vincent D'Mello was the resource person. Mrs. Anie Fiallow, the Project Coordinator updated the participants about the rules and regulations of the Programme and requested the parents to abide the requirements of the programme.
Chaitanya, Shimoga, June 20, 2019: The meeting of the second batch of the Integrated Child Development Programme beneficiary children's parents was held in Chaitanya, Shimoga on 20 June 2019. The beneficiaries were from Bhadravathi Old Town, New Town, Paper Town, Hosudi, Mavinakere and Karehalli. 75 parents attended the meeting. Rev. Fr Clifford Roshan Pinto, the Director of SMSSS inaugurated the meeting and explained the purpose of the programme and of the meeting. He noted that both father and mother should share the responsibility of bringing up the child. Mostly women participate in the meeting. Often men forget their share of responsibility. He also stressed the need to make the best use of the benefits and facilities children receive from the programme and asked the participants to apply for the scholarship from the Government. Family prayer is very important and every day do not forget to pray for the donors was his concluding point.
Mr Vincent D’Mello, the Coordinator of SMSSS explained about the documents needed to apply for scholarships and the follow up to be done. He also spoke about the relationship between ICDP and SHGs.
Mr Jagadeesha, WEP Coordinator of SMSSS spoke on leadership qualities and what are the different possibilities to exhibit leadership qualities.
Mrs Anie Fiallow, the ICDP Coordinator spoke to the parents about the problems faced in the office because of the negligence and irresponsibility of some children and parents. The participants were again reminded to strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the programme. Two volunteers from each parish were chosen and requested to assist the office as and when required to communicate the information from the office to the beneficiaries in their parish. The meeting ended with vote of thanks and lunch.
