Chaitanya, Shimoga, October 15, 2019: Integrated Child Development Programme of SMSSS conducted nine one day camps for all the beneficiary children of the programme in the months of September and October 2019. All the beneficiaries and their parents were informed about the dates and venues of the camp well in advance. The camps were held at Chaitanya on 28 September and 15 October, Kable on 02 October, Jog Falls on 08 October, Hiriyur on 09 October, Davanagere on 10 October, New Town Bhadravathi on 11 October, Sagar on 12 October and Don Bosco ITI, Paper Town Bhadravathi on 14 October 2019.
Br Vinuth, Regent at SMSSS and Mrs Anie Fiallow, Project Coordinator of ICDP were the resource persons. The topic for the camp was ‘identifying the problems of adolescents.’ Issues such as behavioral difference, anti-social attitudes, depressions, addictions, failures, relationship with God and family members were discussed during the camp. Through action songs and value based games values for life were communicated to the participants.
Parish Priests of the respective Parishes where the camps were held inaugurated the camps. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the donors for the generous financial support to continue their education. ICDP staff was actively involved in arranging these camps.
