Learning is a passion that requires the compassionate support of parents and teachers. Integrated child development program wing of The Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society, Shimoga, has committed staff who are always creative and innovative in their approach. To help children utilize their potential, talents, and make studying more enjoyable, they planned a one-day ‘Camp Connect’ Program for beneficiary students and their parents from Shimoga, Kable, Hosanagara, and Nagara. The program took place from September 29 to October 2 in three different locations, with 734 children and 154 parents participating in the events.

The ICDP staff artistically planned the inauguration, capturing the attention of the participants and earning admiration for their artistic skills. Mrs. Madhu B.E, Mr. Jagadish K.H, Mr. Shanmukha Naik, Mr. Madhusudhan, and Fr. Pius D’Souza, the director of the Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society, were the resource persons for the “Camp Connect”.

The main topics covered included self-confidence, saving for the future, compassion towards other children, and the importance of extending a helping hand to others. The sessions were informative, inspiring, and motivated the participants.

Mrs. Anie Fiallow and the ICDP team engaged children and parents with fun activities and group dynamic sessions.Parents responded positively to the program, with many expressing their desire for more such gatherings that are truly informative and motivational.
